How To Write Your Newsletter

So how do you set about writing your own newsletter?

The first thing you need to do is decide on a topic that you are interested in and your potential customers would also like to know more about. Then all you need to do is decide if you have enough knowledge on that subject to write confidently about it, and if you don’t, there are ways around that too. Then decide what format you want to use to present the information and bingo; you have a winning formula for your newsletter.

Deciding on a topic.

You should pick a subject that interests you, and if possible, one that you already know something about. It should also be a topic that is relevant and interesting to your potential customers. It should also be linked to the products and services you sell so that throughout your publications, you can refer readers to your web site for further information or relevant products or services.

For example, if you sell second hand cars, you may want to write a newsletter about “What to look for when buying a second hand car” or “Basic car maintenance”, if you sell houses, you may want to write about” Tips for preparing your house for sale”, or “How to profit from the buy-to-let market”, etc.

Do you have the knowledge?

If you don’t feel you have enough knowledge to write on specific, relevant topics, another strategy for producing a newsletter is to ask others to write it for you. Why would an author give you an article for your newsletter? Because they can include their contact information and links to their web pages, that’s why. The more copies of your newsletter that you give away, the more traffic they get to their web sites. More traffic equals more sales.

There are many article syndication agencies that take articles from experts in all fields for reproduction in newsletters and on web sites. It’s a great place to start looking for articles you can use and as long as you reproduce them in their entirely, including the authors details and links, there will be no problem with copyright infringement. Try typing “article syndication” into a major search engine such as Google along with your particular area of interest and see what comes up.

I would also advise that if you use an article from a particular author, you email them and let them know you have reproduced it and are interested in any other articles of a similar type. You may then find that they send you new relevant articles as they are finished and this will provide content for some of your future newsletters without having to go looking for it.

Another way of getting experts to write articles for you is to seek them out and interview them. Ask yourself:

1. What problem can you think of that could be solved by experts?

2. Who are these experts?

3. Where can I contact them?

Ask them if they’d agree to be interviewed for your newsletter. You can interview them by telephone, email or in person. Often, experts who would not take the time to write an article would be more than happy to answer a few questions and let you publish their answers in return for the free publicity, the publishing of their contact details and a link to their web site.

Don’t get discouraged if they don’t all respond. Remember to be courteous and respectful as they’re doing you a favour.

How to present the information

If you are using someone else’s articles or interviews for your newsletter, the format will present itself. You can’t change the format of a prewritten article for copyright reasons and an interview is usually easiest to present in a question an answer format. When writing your own articles you can also use question and answer format, using yourself as the expert or you can explore a topic in depth in an article style format. Another popular way to present the information is what I call the “tip-list” list option.

For example:

21 maintenance tips for your car

10 ways to prepare your home for sale

101 things you can with your digital camera

25 easy ways to say money on your household bills

All you need to do is decide what question or problem you want to solve and come up with a list of answers. Easy. And if you get stuck, go back to those experts again.

Now What?

Easy, isn’t it?

The truth of the matter is, today anyone can become a published author with a subscriber based newsletter in no time at all.

Now that you’re a newsletter author, you’re going to be interested in ways to improve and make money from your newsletter. But that’s a topic for next time?

How to Choose Lingerie

In my business, I talk to a lot of gals and guys about lingerie. Ladies, if you heard what the guys say, you’d feel a lot better about your bodies. And, men, if you heard what the gals say, that last piece of lingerie you bought her…..well…she used it to decorate her shoelaces. Men want skimpy. Women want enhancement.

So how do you pick something sexy that both of you will like? The answer is simple. Be aware of the other’s preferences. Men and women are different in what turns them on romantically.

Usually, when a man strolls into my store, he walks in, buys something, walks out. When he needs help he’s specific in his needs. “Miss, do you have a piece of string, size medium, in Jeep Cherokee white, for my wife? It’s our anniversary.”

Men want to see skin. Lots of it. and, the more skin they want to see, the more likely it is that it’s going to be skin that’s bumpy or birthmarky. Women don’t want guys to see those parts. Most women have at least one of these parts. Sometimes, it’s even part of a set. Like many women, the part that I’m trying to hide is my stomach. To ensure that my belly’s seen by as few people as possible I’ve tattooed these instructions on it: to be viewed only by medical personnel who are removing something underneath..

When a woman buys lingerie, she is trying to accomplish at least one of three objectives: show something, hide something or pretend you’ve got something. The skinny girls usually don’t want to hide anything; they want to show stuff, and pretend they’ve got stuff. The bigger girls want to show and hide stuff. And, if the stuff is supposed to be big and it’s little, that’s when you buy the stuff to pretend you’ve got it. And, if the stuff is big and that stuff looks good big, that’s when you show it. And, if it’s big and it should be small, cover it up. Guys, we work so hard to please you, that we not only cover up the big parts that don’t look good big, we actually try to squish them in. That’s why women go to the bathroom in pairs. To make sure no one explodes.

Women who have a C cup or larger need support when they’re wearing lingerie. Applauding is not what I mean by support. Guys think architectural engineering. You know the way those cables hold the Golden Gate Bridge up? Bra straps work the same way, except you don’t have all those cars going through.. And, underwires are like support beams. Without basic support, a structure will fall. Think about that Leaning Tower of Pisa. It looks like it will topple over any moment. That’s the fate awaiting large chested women without the proper bra support. Years from now, they’ll be leaning over from the weight of it all.

So, the bottom line is that women want to look beautiful for their sweeties. And, men think that a woman’s bare skin is what looks sexiest on her. Keep that in mind, folks, next time you go shopping for lingerie.

Hey, wait a minute……my honey just bought me a gift. It’s….what appears to be….. lingerie. Hmmmmmm. What the?! …… It’s a piece of string… with a neon feather. I guess it’ll work as an anklet. For my sister’s next birthday.

How to Read Zener Diode Code

Many technicians are confused on how to really read a zener diode code. There are many types of code number indicated on it’s body. The look and shape of a zener diode sometimescan be mistaken to be a normal signal diode. To differentiate it, is by looking at the codenumber on it’s body- whether it is a normal diode or zener diode. Thanks to the manufacturers where their main boards are printed with the word ‘ZD’ which referred to zener diode and ‘D’ means a diode.

However, from my experienced some printed circuit board the marking of ‘D’ also can represent zener diode. This will misled a technician into believing a zener diode is actually a diode. We as a technician or engineer must know or be sensitive about the marking. The only way to find out is by referring the code number printed on the component’s body from a semiconductor data book. Without data book it is quite difficult to know the actual zener diode voltage. If you do not have the data book you may go to google search engine and type the following code and hope you can find the answer there! A wrong substitution of zener diode may caused your equipment to malfunction and sometimes will even blow your equipment. Time and money are loss due to that we lack of knowledge of identify the right zener diode voltage. If you are unable to identify the code, do not worry as this newsletter are here to guide you to successfully on how to read the zener diode code.

5.1=5.1Volt zener diode

5V1=5.1Volt zener diode

12= 12 Volt zener diode

12V= 12 Volt zener diode

BZX85C22=22Volt 1 watt zener diode (refer to ECG PHILIPS SEMICONDUCTORS MASTER REPLACEMENT GUIDE)

BZY85C22=22Volt 1/2 watt zener diode (refer to ECG PHILIPS SEMICONDUCTORS MASTER REPLACEMENT GUIDE)

Note: There is also part number such as BZVXXXXX where you have to find it from ECG SEMICONDUCTOR BOOK.

1N4746= 18 Volt 1 watt zener diode (refer to ECG PHILIPS SEMICONDUCTORS MASTER REPLACEMENT GUIDE)

6C2=6.2 Volt zener diode. (If you look at the zener diode code it is written as 6C2 READING FROM TOP TO BOTTOM) Don’t read from bottom to top otherwise the value you get is 2C6 which you cannot find from data book!

I believe many will ask how do I get the voltage for the code of 6C2. Still refer to ECG book, you have to search for HZ part number. That’s mean instead of finding 6C2, search for HZ6C2 and you will get the answer! The lowest zener voltage that I came across was 2.4 volt and the highest was 200 Volt 5 watt.

Conclusion- Be alert when checking the part number of a zener diode. Don’t always assume that a small signal diode is always a zener diode. Carefully observe the marking on the main board and read the zener diode part number refer to the semiconductor book, preferably ECG SEMICONDUCTOR DATA BOOK which you can get from your local electronic distributor. With this knowledge in mind, you will be successfully find the right voltage of a zener diode.

How Coaches Find Clients Online

At a recent networking meeting Jana asked for a recommendation for a public speaking coach. She was starting to speak in front of audiences, and wanted to polish her presentation skills a bit. Before anyone else got a chance to reply, Elise jumped in to recommend her coach, Kelly. “I have been working with Kelly for two months, and I have already seen results from working with her. I am much more confident during my presentations, and I see that my audience is more engaged and more responsive. She is great; I will e-mail you her contact information later today.”

Later that day I spoke with Elise about Kelly. Elise has always been interested in public speaking, so when she heard about Kelly about a year ago, she put herself on Kelly’s mailing list. She enjoyed what Kelly had to say, learned more about her practice, but didn’t take action to actually buy anything from Kelly until an opportunity came up for Elise to conduct a few workshops with another colleague. Once she started working with Kelly, she confirmed that she was as knowledgeable and professional as she appeared in her newsletter. Kelly, with his professionalism, knowledge and proven marketing techniques turned Elise from being a random business owner into a raving customer. How did she do this?

- She knows and uses effective marketing techniques. Kelly has a web site that describes when she does. She publishes a newsletter, in which she shares useful information on public speaking, as well as keeps the readers informed about her expertise.

- She is consistent. Marketing is not a one time event; rather, it is a process. Kelly markets consistently – she publishes his newsletter on a regular basis, she uses her own web site, branding, articles, and many other techniques in order to get results.

- She is a professional who delivers results. When clients work with Kelly, she delivers the services and products she has promised.

So how can your business benefit from knowing about Kelly’s marketing techniques? Over to you – let’s take action:

- Learn about online customers and how they behave. It takes a few marketing techniques to turn a random web surfer into a raving customer. This week’s lesson at MarketingSalad.com is all about turning your web site visitors into customers. Join us at MarketingSalad.com for immediate access to the lesson, as well as additional discussion on getting more online customers.

- Run your marketing campaigns on a consistent basis. One time advertising or marketing campaign is likely to bring in more web site visitors, but not very likely to bring in many long term customers. Whether you are publishing newsletter, refining search engine traffic or giving workshops to promote your business, it takes time for the campaigns to start bringing in a consistent stream of qualified buyers. Continue your marketing campaigns for a long enough time to see the results.

- Underpromise and overdeliver. Your marketing materials make promises to your customers. Whether it is fast results for people in your classes, a product at no charge with any coaching package purchased or a press release critique for new customers, make sure that you deliver MORE than your marketing materials promise. Doing this will result in customers who not only are happy with your services, but who will also promote your services to others.

Knowing who your customers are and delivering them what they want will help you fill up your practice with happy customers.
