In our society today, there are more and more people who are determined to lose as much weight as possible as quickly and easily as possible.

More time than not these are the same people that say they do not have enough time to work out or go to the gym. However, these people are the ideal candidates for getting a home treadmill.

Other than being able to use this in the convenience of your own home, there are several other benefits that a result of using a treadmill.

Treadmills are proven to be the most consistent calorie burning machine on the market. They are better at burning calories than an ab machine, rowing machine, and stationary bikes.

Your results are very easy to track on your home treadmill. With the digital readouts to view on the machine, you have the ability to track length walked, calories burned, and how much time you have been using.

With a home treadmill they are open anytime for use with no lines whatsoever. There is never any waiting for the gym to open or cannot go because it has gotten too late and it is closed already.

Any person no matter the height, age, or weight, as long as they can walk, can use a treadmill. The features of treadmills to be able to adjust to variable speeds makes it ideal for all no matter the pace at which they wish to exercise.

They are documented as one of the safest and most reliable ways to exercise on the market. Treadmills tend to be less painful on the joints and tendons than other machines and sports because when using you use your natural everyday walking motion.

There are some other, non health reasons as to why treadmills are seen as beneficial to those who wish to exercise.

First, unlike most exercising where time just seems to be dragging by, a treadmill allows for you to watch TV, read a magazine, or listen to music while not distracting you from your workout, which makes the time go by more quickly than other forms of exercise.

Also, in this day and age when home gyms or gym membership fees may be very expensive, treadmills can be found for less than a couple of hundred bucks.

Do not misunderstand, there are those that can range upwards of a thousand dollars, but spending this much on something one time in five or six years will prove to be cost effective over time, where you would renew a $500 gym membership each year.

Find out why treadmills can burn fat more efficiently than almost any other exercise. See reviews and useful information. Click ==> http://www.treadmills-easy.com/

Paul Johnson works tech support for New York based Internet Publishing company, DigiLectual Inc. He’s lost a lot of weight with a fitness regime that includes Treadmills. He shares his knowledge and research on treadmills in a series of articles.

One of the biggest mistakes I see affiliates making everyday is that their building a short-term business where they just make a small sale ? one sale at a time

One of the biggest mistakes I see affiliates making everyday is that their building a short-term business where they just make a small sale ? one sale at a time. If they stop running ads today, their business would shut down! The strategy we’re going to discuss now will allow any affiliate to build a long-term business. This strategy will allow you to upsell your visitors for expensive services. Even more importantly, by using this strategy you’ll soon become recognized as an expert in your field and making money will be all the easier!

So what is this strategy?

You guessed it, it’s building an opt-in list ? a newsletter/Ezine.

By having an opt-in list you’re building a customer base instead of just small sales! You can sell the same customer over and over without having any more advertising costs. You build a trust with your readers that allows them to be loyal in doing business through you affiliate link!

So, as an affiliate, how do you build an opt-in list?

How to Build the List

The simplest way I have found is to start deferring all of my traffic that I pay for to an opt-in page. After the person opts-in, have them land on a thank you page where you pre-sell them for the affiliate product.

So, you’re probably already building traffic to your site ? now, instead of sending that traffic directly to your affiliate link, send it to a page that has an opt-in.

How Should My Opt-In Page Look?

The next most popular question is how to make the opt-in page look. Believe it or not, there actually IS a strategy behind this. Your page MUST be small, short and to the point. This means that you should NOT have a long sales letter type page to get them to opt-in.

Your entire opt-in page should fit in one screen with NO scroll down bar. Have a strong headline, 5-6 bulleted benefits and then a nice big opt-in. You’ll be amazed at how high the results can be?

Quick Ways To Generate Traffic

The point of this article is not to teach you how to drive traffic to your website, but here are 5 really quick techniques to use so you can test what you just learned.

1. Article Submissions ? Submit articles around the web regarding your niche and have your biography link go to a opt-in page. You’ll be amazed at how well this technique works in building a list.

2. Pay Per Click ? The easiest way to immediately begin getting traffic. Send all of your paid traffic directly to the opt-in page, then have the person land on a page that pre-sells the product they were looking for. Make sure to test this, sometimes your conversions on the front-end can fall, but they increase over the long-run.

3. Ezine Ads ? I have found Ezine ads a great way to quickly and cost effectively boost my list. Write an ad promising a “fr^^ ee membership or information” and send the traffic to an opt-in page.

4. Viral Marketing ? This form of marketing takes some time to kick in but can be extremely effective! Other people will spread your message and your message will have links to your opt-in page.

5. Linking strategy ? This option is a bit more work, so only use it once you have tested and know that you have a winner. Start trading links with related websites and you will see a great boost in traffic.

Conclusion

In conclusion, make sure you understand that you should be building a long-term affiliate business and not just something that makes you a few dollars on one sale. If you ever stop advertising, you want to be in position to still have a powerful business. Building a large opt-in list will also position you as the expert in your niche.

Finally, remember to make sure that your opt-in page fits on one computer screen and is small. Always test the page by quickly driving some traffic.

I confess–I’m a marketing heretic! I’ve built my career on breaking all the rules–and one of the rules I break is that I don’t hype.

Do I put the best possible “spin” on the truth? Of course! But I refuse to deceive my readers into action.

What are some of the common copywriter tricks that I *leave on the table?*

Here are a few to start:

* If you order in the next 24 hours, you get… (face it. If you come back tomorrow, the offer will almost always still hold)

* Get all these bonuses, valued at $999, for FREE with your $100 order (yeah, right! And who set the value of these gifts? And are they for sale, anywhere, on the open market at these prices?)

*Here’s the information you requested (a GREAT statement–IF it’s true– but I get five or six a day in my e-box, from companies I’ve never heard of)

* Hi there, long-lost friend (and you sent it BCC?)

So why don’t I like the copywriter’s lies? And how do I write copy without resorting to these deceits?

Well, first of all, I believe that if I want my words to sell a product, that product should be strong enough to do so without tricking the buyer. I know that if I trick someone, I may make a sale–but I’ve lost a customer for life! Whereas if I show the merits, back up my claims, and focus on the way this product solves a problem, eases a hurt or fear, or satisfies a need, I will build that lifetime relationship.

Oh, and one more thing. I like to look in the mirror and see someone who is doing good for the world–and I don’t think lies and trickery will accomplish that. I happen to have a gift for writing, and I use that gift to make the world better. That includes being honest with my self and with my readers.

Much of the work I do is in the publishing industry. And here, the competition is fierce. Roughly 175,000 new books are published in the U.S. each year. Most of them will fail. My job is to help my clients’ books stand out in this dense crowd.

Example: I wrote a press release for a book on electronic privacy issues. Here’s my headline and lead. (Another rule I broke–never use the headline as the lead sentence. It’s the only time I’ve ever done it that way, but in this case, I think the repetition made the point stronger. Names have been changed to protect the author’s privacy.)

It’s 10 O’Clock–Do You Know Where Your Credit History Is?

HIBBING, MN: It’s 10 O’clock–Do you know where your credit history is? How about your employment records? Your confidential medical information?

How would you feel if you found out this sensitive and should-be-private material is “vacationing” in computer databanks around the world– accessible to corporate interests who can afford to track down and purchase it, but not necessarily open to your own inspection.

According to electronic privacy journalist and technology consultant Mortimer Gaines, this scenario is all-too-common?

No falsehoods, no hype–but a whole lot more captivating than the usual “New Book on Electronic Privacy Released by Publisher.”

Without tricking people, I want to capture interest…move the reader to action…and still feel good about myself in the morning.

Yes, it can be done! I do it for clients every day, and have done so for more than 20 years.

One of the most important things to consider when fly fishing is choosing your tackle the right way. Many people overlook this important factor and start with the wrong assumptions. They first buy the rod, then the line to match the rod, then the reel and then they buy the flies they will need to fish. The fact is the flies are the most important in determining weather or not you will be catching any fish.

The tackle selection process should go as follows:

First you must select the correct flies that you will be using to catch the type of fish you will be attempting to catch. The type of fly that is abundant in that particular environment. We will get into the types of flies to use in the right environment later on in the book. For now, accept that the fly should be chosen first.

Lines:

Once the fly assortment has been chosen, the next logical progression should be the line that will be used to catch the fish. The major between fly fishing, spinning and plug casting, is that with the last two types of tackle, the lure is used as a weight that drags the line from the reel to the target point of fishing. Flies are almost weightless, so you will need something to haul the line to the target area. That weight is the fly line, which can be linked to an unrolling sinker. Just before the stop of the back cast and the forward cast, the line is straight. On the stop the line begins unrolling, transporting the fly to the target area.

There are four basic types of fly lines: Level taper, double taper, weight forward and shooting taper. Now, within these four tapers there are many variations. Some companies produce several hundred of fly lines. The good thing however, is that once you decide what type of fishing you will be doing, you’ll be using only a specific type of line.

Lines are given numbers from 1-15, and the most commonly used lines are numbered 3-12 in weight. As a rule the first 30 feet of a line is weighted and this line must be matched to the rod for optimum casting. Since most anglers have a variety of different outfits, each outfit is then matched to a different line to match each rod.

As a rule, most manufacturers will have a label attached to each reel, which will usually indicate the lines’ weight or number.

If you are concerned about asbestos exposure you are not alone. Many individuals wonder if they have been exposed, and if so, what they can do to help protect their health. If you think that you have been exposed to asbestos or are looking for ways to prevent an exposure, look no further. We will go over some of the health problems that arise from asbestos exposure, and what can be done to prevent them.

Asbestos is a mineral fiber that has been used for a variety of different applications. Many homes may have this material in their insulation, as it is a fire retardant. Once exposed, individuals can inhale the microscopic asbestos particles and take them into their lungs. Once there, the fibers can cause lung cancer. If prolonged exposure occurs, an individual can also develop cancer in the chest cavity and abdomen.

It is important to note that many individuals have experienced brief exposure and been just fine. The fine asbestos particles are difficult to see and get rid of, so it is common for them to remain in their air for long periods of time thus increasing the risk of cancer. Smokers are at an increased risk for side effects due to exposure.

If you think that your home may have asbestos there are several places that you want to look. It is important to remember that products today do not contain the fiber, only things built in the 1970’s or earlier.

- Steam pipes, boilers, and furnace ducts could be insulated with an asbestos blanket or asbestos paper tape. If the fibers become damaged or are repaired improperly, they could lead to exposure.

- Resilient floor tiles- the backing on many vinyl sheet flooring and adhesives could contain asbestos. Sanding the tiles or scraping them could release the fibers.

- Cement, millboard, and paper that were used as insulation around furnaces and wood burning stoves. Repairing or removing these appliances could stir up the fibers.

- Door gaskets- in furnaces, wood stoves, and coal stoves.

- Sound proofing or decorative material sprayed on walls and ceilings. Sanding, drilling or scraping the material could be harmful.

- Cement roofing, shingles, and siding. This usually only cause a problem when sawed, drilled, or cut.

If you think that you have asbestos in your home, don’t panic. If the material is good condition, you can leave it alone. It is only when these materials are disturbed that there is a problem. If you find a damaged area- discard it using asbestos gloves and a facial mask. Your local health or environmental officials will be able to walk you through the proper disposal procedure. Always check with them when beginning any remodeling job.

Remember, the only way to find out if something contains asbestos is to look at it under a microscope. Enlist the help of a professional, and let them handle the details. They are trained in such removal procedures and can help ensure the safety of your family and loved ones.

So how do you set about writing your own newsletter?

The first thing you need to do is decide on a topic that you are interested in and your potential customers would also like to know more about. Then all you need to do is decide if you have enough knowledge on that subject to write confidently about it, and if you don’t, there are ways around that too. Then decide what format you want to use to present the information and bingo; you have a winning formula for your newsletter.

Deciding on a topic.

You should pick a subject that interests you, and if possible, one that you already know something about. It should also be a topic that is relevant and interesting to your potential customers. It should also be linked to the products and services you sell so that throughout your publications, you can refer readers to your web site for further information or relevant products or services.

For example, if you sell second hand cars, you may want to write a newsletter about “What to look for when buying a second hand car” or “Basic car maintenance”, if you sell houses, you may want to write about” Tips for preparing your house for sale”, or “How to profit from the buy-to-let market”, etc.

Do you have the knowledge?

If you don’t feel you have enough knowledge to write on specific, relevant topics, another strategy for producing a newsletter is to ask others to write it for you. Why would an author give you an article for your newsletter? Because they can include their contact information and links to their web pages, that’s why. The more copies of your newsletter that you give away, the more traffic they get to their web sites. More traffic equals more sales.

There are many article syndication agencies that take articles from experts in all fields for reproduction in newsletters and on web sites. It’s a great place to start looking for articles you can use and as long as you reproduce them in their entirely, including the authors details and links, there will be no problem with copyright infringement. Try typing “article syndication” into a major search engine such as Google along with your particular area of interest and see what comes up.

I would also advise that if you use an article from a particular author, you email them and let them know you have reproduced it and are interested in any other articles of a similar type. You may then find that they send you new relevant articles as they are finished and this will provide content for some of your future newsletters without having to go looking for it.

Another way of getting experts to write articles for you is to seek them out and interview them. Ask yourself:

1. What problem can you think of that could be solved by experts?

2. Who are these experts?

3. Where can I contact them?

Ask them if they’d agree to be interviewed for your newsletter. You can interview them by telephone, email or in person. Often, experts who would not take the time to write an article would be more than happy to answer a few questions and let you publish their answers in return for the free publicity, the publishing of their contact details and a link to their web site.

Don’t get discouraged if they don’t all respond. Remember to be courteous and respectful as they’re doing you a favour.

How to present the information

If you are using someone else’s articles or interviews for your newsletter, the format will present itself. You can’t change the format of a prewritten article for copyright reasons and an interview is usually easiest to present in a question an answer format. When writing your own articles you can also use question and answer format, using yourself as the expert or you can explore a topic in depth in an article style format. Another popular way to present the information is what I call the “tip-list” list option.

For example:

21 maintenance tips for your car

10 ways to prepare your home for sale

101 things you can with your digital camera

25 easy ways to say money on your household bills

All you need to do is decide what question or problem you want to solve and come up with a list of answers. Easy. And if you get stuck, go back to those experts again.

Now What?

Easy, isn’t it?

The truth of the matter is, today anyone can become a published author with a subscriber based newsletter in no time at all.

Now that you’re a newsletter author, you’re going to be interested in ways to improve and make money from your newsletter. But that’s a topic for next time?

It even surprised me.

Yes, even though I have been pointing out the possibility since July, and was forced by demand to release my study findings before my book was even half finished, I was shocked when I heard the news as well.

You see, I was sure we were at least a year off from this glorious day.

The News

Yahoo has had a little facelift, which you’ve probably read about by now. The real news is more important for your site – the “My Yahoo!” page looks different too.

On September 28, 2004, surfers who logged in to their personalized Yahoo area saw an announcement explaining the RSS and Atom files that show updated information to a website as content feeds, effectively pushing news feeds into the mainstream.

The new look to this section of Yahoo was presented as a full page ad to every single account holder upon first log in that day, and even now, there remains a notice posted.

When I logged into my page in the “My Yahoo!” section, I saw a big difference in the number of feeds left to choose from, as well as in the way they were presented.

Currently, the RSS module boasts “150,000 sources”. If your site isn’t one of them, its crucial that you act now. If you have one and you’re not getting the results you’d like from your set-up, there are small changes you can implement that will make a huge difference in your listing.

Best results aren’t as easy as submitting your feed now, but you’re still within the window of opportunity – if you do it properly.

What the News Could Mean For Your Site If You Act Now

One of my clients recently called this “the back door into Yahoo”. Whether that statement is accurate as far as getting included, or receiving an increase in rankings within Yahoo’s search engine via your feed, depends on your site, and whether you create your feed correctly.

If you could use a daily stream of traffic from even a small portion of Yahoo’s estimated 20 million users, this could be your final wake-up call. You’ll want to learn how to create a feed that gets well listed immediately.

Currently, the RSS module boasts “150,000 sources”. Yahoo will still need hundreds, perhaps thousands more, even if it only intends to list the “creme de la creme” of the submissions it gets. Being in that group is as easy as submitting your feed.

Being at the top of the list isn’t. However, you’re still within the window of opportunity if you take the time to learn how to do this properly. You can get free details on how to do that at helpmerss.com .

“My Yahoo!” RSS Headline module Coming Out of Beta?

If I had to guess, I’d say all signs point to yes. When that happens, Yahoo’s RSS/Atom directory will likely contain only those who added their feeds early. New feeds seeking to be included will probably face stricter standards.

If you don’t have one yet don’t worry, because it’s never been easier to make one. If you can cut and paste, there are tools all over the Net that will show you how- some will even generate the file for you.

However, there are still certain guidelines you need to follow with your feed to get a good result out of Yahoo – it’s not as simple as adding your feed now that there are more competing listings.

Yahoo is still accepting new sources for RSS feeds. Readers of my last book state that they are getting excellent results following my instructions, though initial inclusion no longer occurs at the same rate. Plenty of markets have few feeds available, or none at all. Your site could fill that void.

That means you still have a chance at a first page ranking. The traffic I get on a daily basis from My Yahoo readers alone sounds like I just like to brag.

And I do, but that’s hardly the point.

The point is, there’s no place you can even go to buy the caliber of exposure to the quality of audience that reads feeds. The typical audience that accesses information by feed are also blog readers. A study this summer estimated that the 69.3% of blog readers are aged 29-50, and that 40% of this audience are people who have household incomes greater than $90,000.

The type of surfer that would subscribe to your feed has pre-qualified themselves as a lead, with a certain level of understanding and interest in your topic, often on a professional level. And if you don’t spend every post hitting them over the head with your sales pitch, they can be both loyal and interactive.

(If you do, they’ll unsubscribe from your feed faster than you can spell s-p-a-m.)

And if you’re in the business of providing information you can use, in a way that shows how you can solve their problem, it’s like preaching to the converted. If your product solves their problem, and you show that you deserve the trust of this subscriber, you’ll also find the route to a sale an increasingly downward slope.

The bottom line – this is the power surfer’s favorite toy. And if your content appeals to them, you need to learn how to play.

Learn how Tinu saw a 75% increase in both traffic and sales from feeds at http://freetraffictip.com/rssbook . For free reprint rights to her articles (and a potential $500 bribe) send a blank email to moneyarticles@freetraffictip.com .

“The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live.”
– Flora Whittemore

Your front door welcomes all to your home. This declarative statement of your house — the exclamation point of your home — needs to sing out your welcoming note.

First impressions are not just for guests. Generally, we do not receive as much company as we think we do. We lead such busy lives and simply do not entertain or visit friends often enough.

Decorating your home to impress others is not as important as decorating your home for your own pleasure. Create a welcoming and warm retreat in which you feel great joy just to arrive. Do you feel happy when you see your home in the distance? Does your first glimpse of home bring a smile to your face?

A problem with many new homes is that developers do not provide a separate walkway to your front door. To make yourself and your guests feel more welcome than a car, provide a separate front walkway from the street to the front door. Don’t make guests walk around cars and trip on driveway edges to navigate to the entrance.

Feeling Welcome

Flowers lining the walkway provide a warm reception. Cheerful flowers in loud colors near the entry tell the world that you care about your home. Extras like water fountains, fishponds, cooing peace doves, and scented vegetation make all feel gladly received.

Sing Out the Address

Proud address numbers are bold and beautiful. Avoid tacky peel and stick numbers. Brass numbers need to have screw holes in them, not pronged ends that eventually work loose. As in the past, gold-gilded numbers look elegant on glass doors. Gold-gilded vinyl transfer numbers look especially exquisite in transom windows.

Welcoming Accessories:

Wind chimes add pleasure to our sense of hearing.

Potted plants such as soft ferns (shun unfriendly spiked plants and thorns near the doorway).

Floral baskets with bright yellow and white flowers show up better at night.

A pair of rocking chairs, a double glider, or a porch swing invites neighbors to stop and chat.

A doormat that not only saves your floors but also looks welcoming!

What Color Should I Paint My Front Door?

Unless your front door is a beautiful wood, paint it a joyful color. Your entry door should be a different color than the rest of your house. Warm happy colors include the shades of red and yellow: burgundy, claret, rust, terra cotta, deep amber, and sunny yellow. Cool happy colors of green include apple, sage, and forest green.

After spending time and effort creating a wonderful entryway into your home, use it! Why enter from the garage or back door? Treat yourself as well as you treat your guests. Come home through your welcoming front door!

I recently had the pleasure of motorcycle riding instruction from a friend, Tony, a professional racer. He was an outstanding instructor and provided some great experience-based insight into the more intricate details of motorcycle riding. But, the one thing that stuck in my mind was his comment of “always look where you’re going.” I had always assumed that this is what I did, but I found out that there is a big difference between “watching” and “looking” where you’re going.

If you’re watching where you’re going, then you’re not actually picking a path, but are instead passively allowing the bike to go wherever it wants to go. However, if you look where you’re going along your desired path, then the bike magically follows right where your eyes aim. It you look at a path along the road, you will travel that path. If you look at a tree, then you will hit the tree. Although it seems like common sense, it was actually quite amazing when it was practiced.

It’s kind of funny how this simple instruction on the fundamentals of motorcycle riding actually propagated into life’s little travels as well. You will always go where you look! If you look ahead at a negative outcome then, indeed, you will encounter a negative outcome. However, if you look ahead at the ultimate Vision you desire, then, certainly, you will arrive safely.

Of course, you must always monitor “the other guy” while riding your motorcycle down the road. Indeed, someone won’t see you or, in many cases, won’t care, and simply dart out of nowhere and run you down. As in life, always be on the lookout for the odd little obstacles that appear as they will either stop you cold, or cause you to react and learn from the encounter. Always take each and every encounter, on your bike, and in life, as a lesson in becoming a better rider.

In all cases, it is better to actively look than to simply watch. Never take your eyes off the road, be alert at all times, ensure that your vehicle is in good shape, and take a break when you get tired. By looking, acting, and reacting appropriately, you can ensure your safe travels and a successful arrival at your destination.
