When it comes to being able to provide the most convenience in your kitchen, you’ll have to start with the basic factors for being able to do so.  Those factors include the layout of your kitchen with regard to the proximity of appliances to counter space, storage areas that are provided for the appliances that are used during the cooking process, and ease of access with regard to utensils that are also used during the cooking process.

First, you’ll want to design a kitchen that has enough counter space for you to be able to carry out all of the tasks for preparing a full course meal.  Technically, you should be able to prepare all courses of your meal on a different area of counter space without having any of the appliances, utensils, or food ingredients touching each other.  This should give you adequate space to be able to carry out all of the separate tasks of the cooking process.  Having too little space does not provide for a manageable work area and can place a damper on the progress that you make because you are constantly trying to make room for other equipment, ingredients, and other items.

When you’re cooking you don’t want to always walk to the other side of the kitchen or to some completely different room for an appliance that you need in order to be able to complete a certain step in the recipe.  That is why it is important that you try to build enough shelving and storage space with a pretty close distance of the counter space that you will be working on so you can easily access those appliances that are needed.  This will help save you time and wasted energy from having to run back and forth across the room for appliances or other equipment.  It’s simply a better way of laying out your kitchen and helps relieve a little stress that you might have had if you were constantly running to get equipment.

Finally, you’ll also want to place close attention to where you have the storage set aside for utensils and other small devices used in the cooking process.  Typically, you’ll want to have these items stored on or directly beneath the counter space that you will be using to cook your meals or prepare your deserts or whatever it is that you are doing.  This will also help make your job a little easier when you are in the kitchen and will save you many headaches from having to deal with a dysfunctional kitchen.

Garage storage solutions obviously range from no solution at all, where everything is just a big jumbled mess, all the way up to where everything is perfectly organized in little shelves, boxes, cabinets, etc. For most of us, we just need to find a workable solution to our garage storage problems that is somewhere in the middle.

To really take garage storage solutions to the next level, one has to get away from the homemade shelving and simple racks toward more comprehensive and complete systems. Deluxe metal cabinets that close off the contents from view are nice. And overhead bin systems work great for storing things like holiday decorations and items that are hardly ever accessed, like keepsake boxes and miscellaneous household items that we should probably just toss out anyway. But you know how it is, it is just tough to get rid of things we are attached to sentimentally. But that’s another topic for another day.

One of the coolest garage storage solutions is the platform that can be raised and lowered via pulley system up and down from the rafters. This is sweet because you can load all sorts of things on the platform, then simply raise it up out of the way and secure it until you need to retrieve something from it in the future.

Selecting Fireplace Tools
Fireplace tools are important for their decor as well as their function.  They are probably more important for their decor.  Let’s face it, you could poke your fire with any old pole, sweep up the ashes with any old broom and dust pan, and clean out the fireplace with any old shovel and bucket.  However, an old beat up shovel and broom do not look very good leaning against your fireplace.  Fireplace tools are very beautiful, and they are also made in the proper sizes to make them easier to work with.  They also come with a rack where they are all neatly hung together.  A nice fireplace tool set has many advantages over the old broom and shovel.

Color
